The part of the puzzle that sticks out, which fits into the blanks (holes) of adjoining pieces. Sometimes called loops or knobs.

Tabs can sometimes fray due to rough handling, pulling too hard when two pieces don’t fit correctly, or simply inferior quality. To fix this, I just apply a little bit of stick-glue to the layers and it’s good as new!
